I use a Roxio CD/MP3/WMV player. It can play a regular CD, one burned
with MP3's or one burned with Windows Media Files. A disk with MP3's
burned on it is good for about 20 hours. I've never bothered to burn a
WMV disc. I usually wear it in a fanny pack behind me. If I wear it in
front or to the side the wind and bumps cause it to skip. I don't know
how long the anti-skip is but I never have a problem when it's in back.
(I know, I know. One of these days I will have to get me a tank bag.) I
don't know how much the player cost; it was a gift.

For ear phones, I use the Etymotic Research ER-4P. All I can say is
"WOW!" They do a great job of blocking out any wind noise and sound
great! They list for over 300USD but I bought mine new on eBay for about
220USD.
