Also, starting in '01, they put the greyish/silver wheels on, which I think
looks significantly better.

The '02 is supposed to (haven't ridden one myself) have a smoother shifting
action then the previous years.

'02 rear rack mounting system seems to be different. The instructions I have
for mounting the rear rack show a metal bar for the front two bolts with
just holes drilled in it, my '02 has a pair of captive nuts welded on the
crossmember.

'02 seems to put out more heat on the legs.

'02 is more pipey, big boost of power above about 5500 or so, 99 seemed to
have linear power delivery.

'02 doesn't seem to have a rev. limiter?  (oops) :-)
