Marc,
This is exactly the movement I mean. On my bike I can grab the
rotors and rotate them like you would a steering wheel - as
you've described. Another way to feel this is to hold the front
brake and rock the bike back & forth. Sometimes you'll hear them
clunk. Next time you get the chance visit a dealership, try this
and you'll see that the rotors on new bikes do the same thing.
