If the battery is completley dead you're going to need an
external power source, such as a jump start or a battery charger.
That said, you'll be surprised how quickly you can (partially)
recharge a 'dead' battery by hooking up a set of jumper cables to
another vehicle & running that engine for a while.  Once you have
a partial charge - say 10v or so, you should be able to bump
start.
