[ST] RS mirror extensions



Over the winter I have been working on some mirror extensions for the RS. I
used 1 inch thick plastic and cut it on a
bandsaw to the shape of the mirror base. I then need to extend the studs
that come out of the base of the mirror,so
I took some 10mm solid steel rod and drilled a hole in the center and tapped
it to M6 x 1 thread . I then cut the
rod into 1 inch lengths (same size as the plastic spacers) and threaded them
on to the mirror studs with some
locktite. I then made some 1 inch studs (from bolts) and treaded them into
the other end of the steel rods.
and bolted them on the bike. They look o.k on the bike, can't really tell
they are not factory. I dont have
a ride report yet as the rods are still a little on the icy side here. I
