Re: [ST] Givi VS Triumph VS...

I have another alternative to Triumph or Givi luggage. I just finished
mounting a set of Hepco and Becker sidecases to my RS last weekend. I've
just put on a few miles since then, but I am thoroughly impressed. Quality
is equal to or better than the other options, and I think the shape and
style complements the RS nicely. I used a set of 40 liter "Junior" bags
and I custom built the rack myself. I was on a budget, so all of the
pieces were purchased off Ebay. The cases were actually off of Ebay's
German website (www.ebay.de) For the less adventurous, all of the mounting
hardware and cases can be purchased new. I found this website in Germany
that has the whole kit and cases for about 500
euros. http://www.tm-accessories.de/modelle/sprint_rs/index_sprint_rs.html
(scroll down to Hepco & Becker Kofferträger) I think shipping would only
add about 10% to this cost.

For those that aren't familiar with Hepco and Becker (www.hepco-becker.de),
they are a small german company that makes the factory hard cases for Moto
Guzzi. The bags use the same mounts as the older BMW cases that were made
by Krauser of Germany.

The usual disclaimers apply: I have no affiliation with Hepco and Becker, I
just think they make a great product.

p.s. The motorcycle section on Ebay's German website is huge in comparison
to the paltry listings here in the USA. There is a separate section just
for hard side cases with almost 200 listings.
