RE: [ST] OEM pads

I have to agree, Dave. The OEM brake pads are Nissin HH grade. I find they
offer great value in their long wear, great feel, and NO DAMAGE to the
rotors. OTOH, I still have my original pads in the rear caliper at 42,000
miles, on my second set of fronts. When I changed them out at 18,000, I
thought they were thin, but the new ones didn't have much more that the old.
I kept them, marked for position, and they'll be going back in to finish
them off soon. :)

A few years back I made the mistake of trying an aftermarket product on my
Suzuki Katana (GSXF) 750. I put Vesrah Kevlar pads on it, and in a short
time, my front rotors went from pristine to the junk pile. Those pads wore
down the disks and shined them up faster than crap through a goose.

Yeah, the $15 I saved on pads cost me over $270. Big savings, huh? I'll
stick with what works for me. OEM it is.

The rears usually wear faster than the fronts. Triumph OEM are very good,
better than some alternatives that I tried. Dave Collins, San Diego
