Re: [ST] Near miss Friday - Brake question

The story with my '99 from birth has been, after about 3-5000 miles the
brake pistons get sticky in their pots. I remove the pads, squeeze the
pistons out 3/4's of the way (you'll have to screw around with this- holding
2 back to break the others free, etc.) and clean the circumference of the
pistons. This is becoming difficult to explain, but basically my pistons
actually get a buildup of some sort on them even with constant use. Now I
don't know if this is a tolerance problem with the calipers to piston
relationship or what, but I've tried different fluids, mucho bleeding
techniques, but the only thing I come back to is- clean the pistons and the
brakes work like they're supposed to. Side note: The pads (of which I've
tried several brands) have never been worn, glazed, or warranted any
scrutiny before being replaced.

Good luck,

Jim
