This is what I did when a friend with an '01 ST needed an assist.  Went to
the hardware store and put two nuts on each end of a bolt.  Took it to the
shop at work where they drilled thru the nuts into the bolt to put set
pins in to keep the nuts from moving.   Problem was no matter how I
fidgeted, by the time you got two bolts to lock up to each other they were
slightly askew.  The pins solved that problem.  This homebrew "tool" fits
into a 19mm socket ofcourse for use.
