I have one of these on my FZR1000 and it works wonderfully.  I tried to put 
it on the ST and it won't fit.  There's not enough room between the grip 
and the throttle housing.  I didn't try it before I put on the heated grips 
so I can't say one way or the other about the standard grips.  But I 
couldn't get it to work with heated ones.  YMMV.
