Re: RE:[ST] for Garry - RS sticker removal

My wife spent the better part of two hours peeling the trashed RS sticker off the right side of my bike Saturday. What a woman! The blow dryer wasn't getting her anywhere (not hot enough?). Mineral spirits didn't work. My citrus degreaser seemed to work the best of what we had on hand, so she'd soak, then scrape, over and over. I suspect the fact that the sticker was pretty shredded didn't help things any.

Used some GS27 (sp?) rubbing compound to try to hide the smaller scratches. Was marginally better. Touch-up paint kit (two paint pens, one yellow, one clearcoat) are on order from Triumph. That should hide the (few) deeper scratches well enough. It actually doesn't look that bad now...

I think I like the decal-less look OK. Now it's a matter of whether I leave the other RS decal on or not. I noted that the little "RS" on the fairing is only on the left, so perhaps it's symetrically asymetrical by only having the big RS on the left as well :-) I suspect the other RS sticker will go away if the touchup paint works out well.

Thanks for the help!

Garry
