[ST] Re: st-digest V2002 #1220



Im not quite sure what cultures have to do w/it but
nomatter where your from, all the dealers are still in
the same place throughout the states. 

We in the Northwest are probably fortunate to have a
great Triumph dealer and an OK one for bakup. When I
hit the road I make sure everything is in proper order
but things happen. I will also agree on purchasing
from dealers even if the price is a little higher,
this is how they are able to continue working
w/Triumphs. Im not guessing that this is a big part of
the problem as I have found Triumph parts to be VERY
competetivly priced. 

The key is getting to a dealer that is willing to
order Triumph parts. My origional point to this thread
is that the lack of dealer support can ruin a tour and
its enough to prompt me to use another good make for
my touring. My travaling time is to short and
anticipated. By summer break Im usually close to broke
and would be hard pressed to ship my bike home or lay
over any one place to many days.

There is one very strong Triumph dealer in Lacy WA,
and thats the only really good one in the USA I know
of, Im sure there are others.....watching dealers drop
the line faster than others can pick it up is
disturbing and enough to keep me of the showroom
floors until I see the trend go the other way for a
while. This should be ok as I can afford a new bike
only about every 3-5 years at this time. 

I didnt mean to offend anyone with this  view but this
IS a forum and dealer coverage is a serious issue.
Once it is resolved I will probably put a RocketIII in
my shop.
