[ST] No Triumph Tank Bags......

Peter,

I use a Chase-Harper 650.
http://www.chaseharper.com/TankBags/TankBags.htm

It has a single attachment point on the back and two for the front.

For the back, I wrapped the tie-down straps around the frame tube under the
seat. Then bought the connecting clip out from under that seat to just
above it.

For the fronts, I originally looped the tie-down strap around the steering
head. But that didn't work out well. The bag kept sliding to one side or
the other. I think it was because both the front and rear tie-down
positions were too much aligned in parallel with the centerline of the bag.
There just didn't seem to be enough "leverage" to keep the bag in place.

My solution was to get some new nylon webbing from R.E.I. (In an Electric
Blue, no less, to compliment my Sapphire Blue ST.) I then re-positioned the
tie-down straps to loop around the mail frame spars. So, now the
relationship between the front and rear tie-down points looks more like a
"Y" than an "I". Problem solved.
