I currently use the chatterbox gmrsx1 model. I wear regular disposable foam
ear plugs and do not have any trouble communicating with my wife through the
intercom system. I also use it for the audio input ability. I run my Ipod
through it and have not had any problems with hearing it, even at high
speeds. Voice activation is a little difficult to set right at high speeds
but works well for lower speed coms.
The only bike to other radio coms I use it for is when the wife is chasing
in the cage. It works well to assist in lane changes or giving directions
during times of longer distance separations of a mile or two. The unit works
well with the cheap FRS radios available everywhere for near to nothing. \
Hope this helps.
