[ST] Valve size

Hello all,

I am finally getting round to thinking about biking this year (as opposed 
to programming, configuring servers and decorating, which are occupying 
tedious amounts of my time just now)

The rear valve stem on my '00 ST is leaking air at the base and needs 
replaced.  My local tyre fitter will happily fit this for me, but doesn't 
have the size of the stem to hand.  He thinks it's a standard one, but 
apparently some European bikes use odd sizes, BMW being his example.

Does anyone know the size of the stem I need?
