Ah yes, the suspension. I have similar marks on my RS's belly pan, foot peg
feelers, and sidestand.
I hope I've cured the condition now with Race Tech Gold Valve Emulators and
Race Tech .95kg springs in the forks, and a Penske 8981 shock in the rear.
Harsher? Not really. I'd call it "a bit firmer", but significantly more
compliant, stable and with better feedback.
Yes, I finally got my Penske on. For the record, a 2000 RS shock is 365mm
"eye-to-eye", and anything else is either too short to give the correct ride
height or too tall to fit in the bike. Once in, however, I think I could get
+5-6mm of ride height adjustment, which I may actually do to sharpen the
steering a bit more.
I do know I got one good lean angle while riding yesterday that previously
would have had me scraping hard parts. No more! :) happy happy.
