Rejoice while it lasts! The same thing happened to me after I
installed an Ohlins rear unit on my 2K ST. Then I started going faster
and have since managed to scrape the hell out of my belly pan, far more
than with the old stock rear shock.

Of course, it's usually my fault. Between the RaceTech/Ohlins
suspension and Metzler Sportec tires I have so much grip and control on
the street that I can do silly things like trail the brakes all the way
to the apex of a corner while remaining comfortably within my traction
allowance. This loads the suspension quite nicely and is fine and
dandy until there's a dip in the road near the apex, and SCCCRRRuush
goes the belly pan against the ground. [sigh]
