[ST] Actual Riding

I just got back from 4 days riding in the Hill Country and find my "ST" box
filled with over a hundred messages. Cool, I think, lots of discussion
going on. Then I open the box to find, an HTML thread that goes on FOREVER,
sorry I only read the first two or three. GEEZ, this is a motorcycle list!
Wanna talk geek, go over to www.imageek.com

Then the moto related topics, ahhhhhh, chains and lights and shocks and oil?
  did I see oil?? :))

Hey I have nothing against these topics, really. But at this point, one
question, one or two accurate answers should suffice, right? We have this
shit down, don't we? :)

And not one, ONE, actual ride report.

I'm sorry, but I just have this image of dozens of pristine Sprints, with
all the latest and greatest mods, sitting on a pedestal, in the living room.
Squeaky clean, and zero miles. My god folks, if you spend this much time
discussing the minutiae, and then acting on it, you can't be riding much.

aaaarrrggghhhh,

So anyway, a very eventful ride in the Hill Country. If you don't know, the
area is very arid, and the recent rains has made low water crossings (they
don't have bridges down there) a real crap shoot. I would go into some
detail, but it would probably just bore y'all. You know, actual on the road
drama, adventure and all that.

Short story, 1423 miles, one rear tire replaced, one deep river crossing,
two big storms navigated, lots of GREAT roads, good times with moto
friends, and a little more for the memory banks. Oh, and one perfect pot of
real Texas chili.

Sadly, everything mechanical worked just fine, like it most always does.
Boring, I know.
