RE: [ST] Fuel Connector Recall

I won't attest to "knowing for sure", but I was BSing with one of the
Triumph mechanics that I ride with and he was doing one of these
replacements. The new part looked like a very dull aluminum, but felt more
like a hard plastic. It was light and plastic-y in feel, but looked like a
faded gray of metal. So I don't know...

On another note, he said that whoever is making these new parts has poor
quality control of tolerances in their manufacturing as only about 2 or 3
out of every 10 would fit properly. He has installed a bunch that don't sit
and seal well, and thus shoot fuel out the bike when the bike is turned on.

For what it's worth...

Subject: [ST] Fuel Connector Recall

Has anyone had this done yet?

I just off the phone with a dealer here in PA who said that the recall
replacement parts were aluminum?
Interesting because I thought I'd read hear that they were going to be just
beefed up plastic.
