That has been my conclusion as well.  I recently switched from the
Rotella T dino to the synthetic in my Kawasaki, and was only able to
find 5W40.  I searched several retailers...

The Shell Rotella T  Synthetic only comes in a 5W-40 (at least, that
Wal-Mart carries).  Using 15W-50 always bothered me a little, as I tend
to ride year-round and encounter some pretty cold temps in the winter
time that 15W isn't appropriate for.  The 5W rating is simply going to
make cold startup a little easier; once the oil is warm it'll act just
like any other 40W oil.
