Well, I guess that depends on what method you use to crash. I've actually
had some very "fun" crashes :) The smiley bag incident wasn't all that
bad, considering I walked away with only a bruise on my forearm, and rode my
"totalled" ST, 500 miles home. That ride wasn't a lot of fun, kept hearing
funny noises :)) And then there was the time a jumped my Sporster off a
cliff..........or the time I slid my H-1 under a truck.........but I
digress, back to the ST.....

Like you I came away from the insurance settlement in pretty good shape.
Got 7900 for a two year old, 30K bike, that had "other" issues. Also got,
about 1500 for optional equipment (hardbags are considered optional), then
another grand for trashed gear (helmet, leathers, ect...). Then to add
insult to injury, I bought another '00 ST, six months later for 4800 bucks,
and it only had 3800 miles on it :)))))

Even a blind hog finds an acorn every once in a while.
