I bleed the (front) brakes about twice a year (thanks
speed bleeders !!!) and thoroughly clean the pistons
at the same time. Pads go for about a year. Still, the
"spongy feeling" comes back after a few weeks. All the
STs are like that. I rode one (not mine) last Sunday
and I was surprised how spongy the front brake was
compared to mine.
I'll change my piston seals at 30K miles anyhow.
