Many thanks for fully explaining the physics behind
your solution.  Are you a professor, perchance?

Andrew,

I appreciate the concern, but there's no need to
worry: I shall don my tinfoil cap and mittens before
removing the tape, and will properly dispose of it in
a standards-compliant bit bucket.
