The 'classic' high-side just involves locking up the rear tire; as the tire
loses traction it tends to drift side to side.  If you let off the rear
brake, it regains its grip, snapping back to center and throwing you off
(that conservation of energy/equal and opposite reaction thing).

Seems like trying to save a low-side at high enough speed could have the
same snap-to-center effect, thus resulting in a high-side.
