Re: [ST] slip-ons

I got this same BS from my dealer. I was in an interesting fix, as I took my
bike in for a radiator replacement under warranty and requested a FI tune
update. They were having problems downloading the tune when they discovered
a bad grounding connection. The dealer commented about the modification I
made to the stock muffler (I gutted it and fabricated a straight through
flow design, with a perferrated core and stainless steel packing at a cost
of about $30) and how the downloaded tunes were designed only for the
Triumph cans. Well, being that my bike was under warranty and they were
having trouble downloading the programing, I decided not to push the
arguement so I let them purchase a SS off road can for me at the cost of
some $350 or what ever it was. When I get home I look at the two cans, (mine
and theirs) and I see very little difference and doubt very much there can
be any difference in flow and back pressure. The greatest differences of
flow would be between a stock can and any free flow design, not between any
of the various free flow models.
