RE: [ST] rear rack



Coop,

What you have is the bolts/brackets for the rear rack in conjunction with 
the topbox.  Funny thing that there are different part numbers for the rear 
rack only, and the rear rack with supporting hardware for the topbox.  
Funnier still is the fact that the rack plus additional hardware to support 
the top box is MUCH cheaper than the rack itself.  Go figure.  So my advice 
is to use the additional brackets and you will have a much sturdier 
platform.  Hey, it only took me, 4 hours :))))

But if you are only gonna us the rack for minimal weight, you are prolly OK. 
  One bit of advice tho'  if you do decide to put the full monty on..... 
when you put the bolts thru for the front rack mount points,,,,REVERSE the 
bolt (i.e from the bottom with the nut on top).  This way, if you ever 
decide to remove the rack, temporarily, its a quick operation.  Otherwise, 
it's a pain the the posterior.
