I'm assuming that the above points were made in jest; however, the barbs are
there. I make no apologies for wanting to go on a ride with guys of similar
interests through great roads. There is NO implied ignorance of the amount
of work to organize an "official" ride. Follow on emails implied that
organization was desired, that assumption is without foundation. For those
of you who believe that one must organize a ride for legal protection or
whatever, I must say that my experience has been that the rides I have had
the most fun on were very extemporaneous in nature. Pick a start point.
Figure when you had to be back. Pick some points you might want to see and
go. There is no legal exposure for the type of ride that was suggested.
Last but not least, when you have more than four or five bikes in a gagle,
it doesn't matter if you are in WV or Kansas, you spend most of your time
looking at tail lights not enjoying the ride.

If any organization wants to adopt the suggestion I made, more power to
them, I'm not copywriting them. It just was not intended as an "event."
