You may be correct, but there are several dealers, mine included, 
selling "2004 RSs".  The 2 in the showroom here were made in March '03. 

I think I'd call them spiced up "last hurrahs" rather than parts bin 
bikes.  My swing arm looks to be the same as the DSSA on the 600s, so 
the new ones could have easily had the '02 rear. 

For some reason SSSAs sell.  I did NOT buy an ST solely because it had 
the SSSA.
