These bikes definitely make going fast way too easy (there should maybe be
separate speed limits for motorcycles...just a thought...). Changing the
sprockets will change the "sweet spot", but it will still want to go fast
and do it just as easily; but at least you won't feel so much like your
taching too low when trying to go at a somewhat legal speed. You'll get a
much better launch, and accelerate faster too. I think it's a great change
as who needs the top speed all that often.

Hello all.

I have been "lurking" in the shadows for many weeks, reading all of the
informative posts, before I decided to take the plunge with an '03 ST
(green).

WHAT A RIDE!!! My first question for the group is: How do you keep your
license while riding such a fast bike? After 20+ years of riding cruisers,
I look down to see myself cruising at 90+ mph without meaning to.

I'm considering changing my front sproket for one with one less tooth. Has
anyone done this, and will it help me to keep it closer to the speed limit?
Right now, it feels like the "sweet spot" is 90 - 95 mph for extended
cruising.

Thanks for your response(s).
