It's your bike - "feel better" and do it every 3k or use your brain =
(it's SYNTHETIC OIL) and do it per the suggested interval. FWIW, I'm =
always amazed that people imagine there's a grand conspiracy among the =
bike makers (as in break in suggestions are to cover their butts, etc.) =
but when it comes to changing the oil the manufacturer suddenly becomes =
an evil brother-in-law out to destroy your pride and joy.=20

Can we start a parallel thread? Anyone out there switched to a =
stainless steel oil filter? At around $100 bucks it appears they'd pay =
for themselves quickly, and they claim increased filtration. =20

<This may be a stupid question, but how often do you change your oil? =
The service guide in the manual shows services every 6,000 miles. I =
checked my oil the other day and it looks pretty dark with 3000 miles on =
it. Should I go ahead and change it or will it be ok to wait until the =
next service?>
