[ST] Changing front sprocket, torque values
- Subject: [ST] Changing front sprocket, torque values

I am finally installing my 18 tooth front sprocket, and have a few questions:
1) What is the best way to remove ( and later replace ) the bent washer that prevents the sprocket nut from coming loose ?
( I was just going to pound it flat with a rubber mallet and punch , for lack of a better idea).
2) What is the best way to break that nut loose ? Put the back tire on the ground and put the bike in gear and hold the brake ?
3) Torque values.....my manual gives specs in NM, and of course my wrench only has FT/lbs. Does anybody have a conversion factor . i.e. 10 NM = X FT/LBS, or 10 FT/LBS = X NM ?
Thanks again,
John , cleveland.
