RE: [ST] Fuel Connector Recall Question



This is what I got from Great Bay, who you'd think would have a pretty good
idea of what's going on.

The NHTSA jumped the gun in releasing the recall, as at the time Triumph did
not have a plan in place in terms of how they were going to handle the
recall.  So dealers do not have the okay or the parts from Triumph to
perform the recall and no dealer is going to perform what could be hundreds
of repairs on their dime without knowing for sure that they are ever going
to be reimbursed.  It's a great giant mess.  But, the good news is that it
should be resolved in the near future (months, not years).  The replacement
parts from what I'm hearing are not so different from what's currently
there, just a larger diameter for more strength or something like that.

Sorry that does nothing for those who've either had or are currently
experiencing problems.
