[ST] fuel connector NO Problem: 55000+ miles

30K on my 99ST w/ original connectors and no leaks.  Most likely culprit > 
ham fisted removal of gas tank or rubbing connector on frame

It is a mistake to allow any mechanical object to realize that you are in a
hurry.
