IIRC, they're held on with adhesive, and some liST members found that 
whatever spray polish they were using was causing the adhesive to lose 
its grip.  If I were you, I'd just Superglue it back on and keep 
riding. :-)

I can't remember if there are rubber grommets for the bottom two 
screws, but after nearly 40K miles on my 2000 ST I don't have any 
cracks in the windscreen even though I've certainly over-torqued those 
plastic screws on occasion.
