My experience leads me to believe that the real story is this: the radiator
is plenty big enough but the air can't get to it.
Last year a kindly cager remodelled the fairing on my RS and I ended up
riding around for a while without the fairing side panels. I jury rigged
some mini indicators and the bike actually looked quite cool, but more to
point it ran cool!
Normally on my commute through London traffic the fan would be regularly
cutting in, but without the fairing ... it wasn't.
I now have a new fairing, and the engine temperature is back up!

So one solution might be to get that hacksaw out and cut a few holes ;-0
