I traded in a GSXR1000 K1 for my 2003 ST. The BHP value was not an issue. MY
old ZXR750 makes more BHP than the ST, but the whole point of buying the ST
was to meet a different set of criteria. BHP chasing is best done by
exchanging the bike. The ST handles well for a 120 BHP (crank) bike. But not
well enough to handle the 148 BHP (rear wheel) of the GSXR1000. Even with
modified suspension components. Simple put, doing 186 mph on the ST would
terrify me more than doing 130 mph on my old Z1R

IMHO
