Even if it is at the crank, chain drive is pretty efficient.  Like 96%
efficient.  So you'll still see like 173 bhp to the rear wheel if the crank
is 180.

Obviously the 180 hp on the R-1 is crankshaft hp, or factory claims. 
Anyone who believes factory horsepower or weight claims doesn't have 
much a a connection to the real world!
