[ST] Various Rideaboot Questions...

Okay, so I have a lull in my preparations for my Rideaboot, and I'd like
some input from the listers on the following matters:

1) Motorcycle TOWED trailer - First, has anybody towed a trailer behind
their motorcycle? Has anybody towed using their Sprint? (Before anybody
gets disgusted that I'd "pollute" the essence of a sport/sport touring bike
with a trailer, note that I'm going to be out for 3-6 MONTHS, and I want to
combine my Rideaboot with a Windsurfing Safari, which means I must be able
to take a windsurfing rig along... somehow, I don't think it'll fit into
the tankbag.) Practical advice based on experience is hereby solicited.

2) Aside from the Corbin and the Triumph Topcase with Backpad, are there any
other options for passenger backrests for our beloved 955 Sprints?

3) Related to #1, suggestions and/or recommendations on trailers.

4) Suggestions and/or recommendations on 3-4 person tents.

5) Okay, in the event that either towing with my RS is impractical, or I
simply decide to take a different bike, what would y'all suggest. Today, I
visited a quad of my local dealers, and checked out the following:

2003 Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom (can get it for $7,700)
2004 Suzuki DL650 "baby" V-Strom (msrp $6,600)
2004 KTM 950 Adventurer (msrp $12,000, will deal) looks much better in
black than in KTM's Halloween paint scheme

2003/4 Honda Goldwing (drifting out of contention, 'tis just so blasted BIG)
2004 Honda ST1300 (used, 400 miles! Guy rode it down to Jerome, AZ, got to
spend some time on his buddy's new 'Wing, rode back and traded the ST in on
a purrrrdy orange 2004 Goldwing. I actually stumbled into the guy's "new
owner" briefing on his 'Wing!)

Also in mild consideration is the Sprint ST and the Bonneville. I almost
certainly going to keep my RS, so an Sprint ST is
whollottaduplicationgoinon! I'm not sure that a Bonnie would have enough
oomph to handle 350lbs of trailer, but I could be wrong. (The Bonnie is a
contender because it says "unlike the others, I'm perfectly content to just
mosey along and smell the flowers!)

Beemers are a possibility, but the only BMWs that have ever really lit my
fire have been the R1200C and the F650, neither of which is really very
suitable for my intended usage.

Well, that's all for now. I look forward to constructive input.

Grace and peace,
John S., aka "BikerDawg" (unofficially)
