I believe you must be thinking of something else. The rack is made of very
sturdy metal and comes with a complex set of brackets to brace the rear
subframe - probably superfluous for light loads, but anything heavy (e.g. a
stuffed top-box) can exert quite the torque on the frame since it's
providing fair leverage out where it is.
