Oops, third time lucky. One final vital piece of information. I stuck a
voltmeter on there and it's only putting out about 12.5 volts when idling
and it actually seemed to drop when I revved the bike. Admittedly the
voltmeter was a bit dodgy so I wouldn't want to rely on this but it did seem
very strange. I would have expected over 13.5 volts given the battery was at
least half flat. Is this right?
