[ST] Handlebar grip installation

Hey guys, it's been a LOOONG time since I've posted here but I am still 
around and still have my bike....   '99 ST.

Anyway, am trying to replace the grips with a new set and am having a 
bear of a time with it.   Managed to the the left one on but the right 
side is giving me all sorts of grief.   I just can't seem to get the 
throttle side grip over the throttle sleeve and don't remember having 
had this problem when I replaced my stock grips with foam ones back 
when the bike was new....


is there some trick to it that I have forgotten?
