Well, folks, this is a plea to all of you  never to assume you know what
the f***ing idiot in the car ahead of you is doing.  On Sunday, a friend of
mine was killed.  He was about the most experienced and most competent
street rider I know, a fellow physician in his fifties.  He rode every
chance he could and did so all over the country but died on a local street.
An unlicensed 17 year-old girl turned left in front of him, he braked hard
and she stopped.  He took off again just as she crossed in front of him.
He was riding a sport bike and always wore full gear but died instantly.
Please, please, always be vigilant.
