[ST] Sorry Blake

Bummer about your bike Blake.
I have a feeling the frame is plenty strong for what it was designed to do.
Mount the engine. And I bet that if triumph thought it would do anything
else they would be selling frame sliders as accessories too increase the
profit margin since everybody thinks they need them. I also wonder how many
bikes that have gone down have really been inspected specifically for this
type damage?
BTW, I dropped Merlin yesterday turning around in the middle of a two lane
road to take a picture. I stalled the engine while motioning to Bird dawg
and it stopped dead. I tried to keep her upright but was not successful.
Luckily the bar end, clutch lever, peg, shifter, and hard bag were not
even damaged. Only about six small scratches in the lower side panel that
will need touch up. Lucky I'd say. Now I wonder if I had those frame
slider aboard would I have more damage?
Learning after the thought: never turn around in tight quarters with your
hand not covering the clutch. I now realize I was in second gear instead of
first and waved at Bird to let him know to stay there instead of following.
Dumb but lucky.
BTW, that new Metzler Z6 tire is fabulous. The Bird said I rode real well
and the bike just felt planted in every situation.
