RE: [ST] Bridgetone tires......

On a Honda Hawk frequently used as a sport tourer: Late September, on the way to GA from NH, near Scranton, PA, my Avon AV46 rear (7000+ miles and real close to replacement) was punctured quite badly on the highway. The local dealer had only a slightly oversize 020 for a replacement. After about 2000 miles, nearly 50% of that distance spent erasing chicken strips, the center of the tire is flat spotting sooner than the Avon did. Also, as the weather gets colder, I noticed some really scary cornering slides; guess the Battleax is a LOT slower to warm up than the Avon as well. I'm going right back to Avon as soon as this one wears out.

Still new at this sport touring thing, only four 2000+ miles trips under my belt, but the Avon Azaros have proven to be the longest lasting for all the superslab required to get me to the mountains and very confidence-inspiring when chasing through the twisties. Pretty reasonably priced for 110/70 and 160/60 combo.

IMHO, YMMV

John,
The 014 replaced the 010. I have run both and like them a lot. Only
problem is that the rear does not last that long. This is why some
people go with the 014 front and 020 back. I have never tried the 020.
