Kisantech.com sells a rear light plug-in replacement for the bulb unit that 
flashes. I have had mine for about 2-3 years, and they still work fine.

Thanks for your response, Dave.  This is the exact unit that I was looking
at.  Have you had any bulbs burn out on you?  It seems like they would tend
to be pretty fragile, especially given that their life span is less than
half that of a standard 1157 bulb.
