Not a bad decision. Knowing what affects you, your family and your
country is no bad thing, but it's not something which I am particularly
interested in, mostly because of my tiny influence on the whole outcome.

I have a colleague who is extremely anti-Tory from the Thatcher days,
and he organised protests including peaceful demonstrations in local
courts and council offices against the Poll Tax in the 80s. His
influence is high, so he (IMO) can rant about it all he wants. I could
sit and rant all day about what I think the Labour party is doing wrong,
but (a) I don't know enough to make informed rants, and (b) it would not
change one tiny thing. I get one vote, and I have never missed the
chance to use it, but I also realise that THAT VOTE is my only influence
on how my country is governed.

Anything else is a waste of breath.

All I mean is that I think we should exercise an amount of control in
how we expend our efforts and expound our opinions consumate to the
influence we can have on other people and events.

Jelly?? JAM!!! You guys, eh? I'd go for raspberry jam personally.

Until 18 seconds ago I didn't realise what a Whig was! There ya go.
What we would now call a Liberal Democrat, I suppose. Increasing in
strength greatly in the UK, although still to throw off the "third
party" shackles in a country which has bobbed from Labour to
Conservative more or less exclusively for 100 years.

Right, that's it. Go away and vote. It'll all be over soon.

Andrew
