RE: [ST] New ST



Amen to the insurance sentiment.  When I was shopping for my RS I was
actually looking at a 98 VFR and had it not been for the insurance premiums
I would be a Honda guy and not a Triumph chap.  The VFR was nearly 3x the
insurance cost of the RS, with less displacement.

And there's no new Triple in my future for several reasons, the most
important of which being that the RS is pretty much everything that I could
want in a bike and costs me next to nothing to own and maintain.  I'll
reserve final judgment of the aesthetics of the newer beasts until I can see
one in the flesh but if they're from the same school as the Daytona 6 it
just isn't my cup of tea.  While I don't think it's the design tragedy that
was the Ducati Supersports (gawd someone should be fired for that debacle)
it could go down as a bummer of a decision since unlike the big 3 Triumph
probably won't re-design either of these for another 5 or 6 years.  Here's
to hoping they get it right in 2011 and sell a ton of them in the mean time.

One of the reasons I bought the ST was the insurance
break, for me it was about $500 a year over anything
that had a 1000 in the discription.

And if anyone is keeping count I am not a fan of sharp
edges.
