RE: [ST] Front Tire Wear



Engine braking does not lead to cupping.  With engine braking you are
exerted the forces on the rear tire only.  These forces are off set though
by accelerating, which exerts force on the tire in the opposite direction.
These two things normally balance each other out, and thus why cupping isn't
normally an issue on the rear tire.
On the front tire however, when you accelerate there is little force exerted
on the tread.  When you brake there is a tremendous force exerted on the
tread.  This is very unbalanced and thus why cupping occurs on the front
tire.
So yes, braking; no, engine braking; yes, weight of the bike.

Yup, that's it.  You should also notice a "saw tooth" pattern happeneing
with the leading to trailing edges...
