RE: [ST] '05 ST forks & brakes?

FWIW, Nick at Riverside (I think he's Carlo's son) is who sold me my RS in
March 2000. (Nick is gone from there now, after getting caught with his hand
in the company till.)

So what about the upside-down forks, damping adjustment or not? Why would
they show them WITH upside down forks and ship them with the current
right-side-up version? Same thing on the brakes....show the very cool
radial-mount ones, but ship with the current (though NOT substandard)
4-piston conventionals.

Preload only is STUPID on Triumph's part. They're trying to sell against the
VFR, the Ducati ST4S, the Futura, and arguably, the ZZR1200 and FJR1300.
Putting the "new ST" out with anything less than what they showed to the
dealers (USD damping-adjustable forks & radial brakes) is keeping them
squarely BEHIND the competition, especially considering they're sharpening
the bike's lines so they CAN compete with the others for the same lot of
buyers. Somebody give the marketing people at Triumph a CLUE!

Ken when I spoke to Carlo at Riverside he said the forks only had preload
adjustment but the rear shock is fully adjustable. Like you I was surprised
and asked him again to clarify and he said preload only.
