Re: [ST] Starcomm1 vs. AudioBoss Comm. Systems

I'd be interested in more on how these systems compare as well as I've been
doinkin' with bike-to-bike comms with various levels of success for some time
now. And to further complicate the choices it seems AutoComm has some new
lower priced boxes to throw into the fray.

When we ran Chatterbox's original CB's things worked fairly well, had plenty
of volume and the all too important access to the squelch knob via
Chatterbox's remote handlebar mount control unit.

But since moving to FRS/GMRS I find there's not enough volume in the helmet to
overcome wind noise (with ear plugs) and figure it's time to add an
amplifier/integrator so I can also mix in a music source and who knows what
else (GPS cueing, radar detector, phone?) in the future.

I was about to go with the AudioBoss since I'm using MotoComm's headsets/cords
at the moment but it has no option for bike power, is battery only, etc. Some
of the limited reviews on StarCom1 sound good, and man their headsets sure
look exactly like MotoComms. I haven't had a chance to get more info together
on AudioCom's new offerings.

But for simple rider/passenger, I'd go cheap w/Chatterbox's little $40
intercom that does have a Walkman input. Or have you seen the "air" tube
thingies Rider Wearhouse (Aerostich) has?

Looking forward to hearing more from those using the integrators too.
